CELDAR Foundation is a non-profit organisation operating in Ghana with focus on promoting sustainable livelihoods, health and well-being of underserved communities and vulnerable people. Our interventions focus mainly on the youth, women, persons with disability and displaced migrants.

We are committed to operating across the country in a manner fully consistent with the highest standards of conduct including following best practices in integrity and ethics, anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, health and safety, anti corruption and other areas in order to promote good governance and positive impact.

End poverty in all its forms everywhere

This goal aims to eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere by 2030. The U.N. estimates that approximately 780 million people live in extreme poverty throughout the world, which is measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day. At CELDAR Foundation, our sustainable livelihood programmes such as entrepreneurship and business development, skills development and financial solutions help people to move out of poverty.

This goal aims to end hunger and to ensure that all people have access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round, in particular, people who are poverty-stricken and in vulnerable situations by 2030. The U.N. estimates that around 815 million people worldwide are undernourished. At CELDAR Foundation, our fight against malnutrition in every form and our programs that empower people to fight the double burden of undernutrition and overweight in communities contributes to ending hunger and improved nutrition.

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

This goal aims to substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship by 2030. Our skills training programs, business and financial literacy training courses are helping to achieve this goal. These programs target rural areas and more women and youth.

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

This goal aims to end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere and eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation. Our sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, sexual and gender based violence programs mostly target women and girls. Additionally, 80% of our small loans go to women.

By 2030, this goal aims to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water, adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations. At CELDAR Foundation, our Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs contribute greatly to achieving this goal.
